Over 3,000 years old, the faster parts of this beloved folk & social dance demonstrate the joy of life. Two of the slower movements imitate the movements of labor & childbirth. It is done by both sexes on joyous occasions (engagements, marriages, etc.). Morocco is in yet another gorgeous Mme Abla creation (photo from 1985) and the photo of the Casbah Dance Experience dancers is of their performance of Shereen’s “Boss Ba’ah” in the Mena House’s Grand Ballroom in Giza, Egypt, thisclose to the pyramids. The dancers are (from left to right) Farasha, Sophia, Leonor, Karima & Alexandra.
