June 18/DAY 1: Meet “MOROCCO” at JFK airport for check-in & orientation, then onto our Egyptair jet for our overnight flight. Dinner, movie, nap. Wake up in Cairo, change planes for our flight to ISTANBUL

June 19/DAY 2: ISTANBUL!! Passport control & get your bags. We meet our Istanbul agency rep & transfer to our lovely center city hotel, near the heart of Taksim district. Unpack & wash up a bit, then dinner at the hotel. Afterwards, you can walk around Taksim, right near our hotel. Early to bed, because we start in earnest tomorrow morning!

June 20/DAY 3: Buffet breakfast in the hotel & onto our private bus for a great FULL DAY TOUR of Istanbul, including TOPKAPI PALACE, SANTA SOPHIA & THE UNDERGROUND CISTERN. Lunch on our own (great cafeterias very near). Back to the hotel & dress up, our bus is waiting to take us to the ORIENT HOUSE night club for dinner & show, with Turkish-style ORIENTAL & FOLK DANCE.

June 21/DAY 4: Buffet breakfast, then our bus will take us to the COVERED MARKET: Morocco will take you straight to the costumer! The rest of the day to enrich the Turkish economy, then back to the hotel on your own. Early evening departure to the GAR GAZINOSU night club for dinner & show with FOLK & ORIENTAL DANCE.

June 22/DAY 5: Buffet breakfast, morning & lunch on your own. Don’t stray too far, because we’re going to the MILITARY MUSEUM, with its fabulous JANISSARY BAND CONCERT early in the afternoon. To the hotel to change clothes & off to KERVANSARAY night club for dinner & show with FOLK & ORIENTAL DANCE.

June 23/DAY 6: Buffet breakfast, day at leisure to go back to the Covered Market if you wish, or just wander around Istanbul. In the evening we have DINNER & a FASIL BAND so we can get up & boogie!!!

June 24/DAY 7: Buffet breakfast, morning & early lunch on your own. 12 noon off to the airport & our flight to CAIRO! Have $15 in cash for your visa, change some additional money, meet our Cairo agency rep for Passport Control, get our bags, go through Customs & onto our bus to the five-star MENA HOUSE HOTEL, in GIZA, right at the PYRAMIDS!

June 25/DAY 8: Buffet breakfast & onto our private bus for an all day CITY TOUR: the Sphinx, Pyramids, Egyptian Museum, Citadel of Salah El Din & Mohamed Ali Mosque. Lunch at world famous Felfela Garden Restaurant (pay for your own lunch).

June 26/DAY 9: Buffet breakfast, then bus to KHAN EL KHALILI & marvelous Mahmoud’s “AL WIKALAH”, a hidden 4-story building filled to the rafters with beaded & sequinned dance goodies: everything from whole costumes to scarves, shoes, canes, parts & pieces. Shop till you drop! It’s up to us to balance the Egyptian National Budget!

Early eve we are going to a fabulous DERVISH SHOW under the stars at the magnificent CITADEL.

Meet in Morocco’s room afterwards to give her your class selection sheets/ pay for your classes in US $ cash.

June 27/DAY 10: Buffet breakfast. Your day is at leisure while Morocco registers & pays for the classes you selected at Raqia Hassan’s AHLAN wa SAHLAN FESTIVAL! (Cost of individual classes not included, since it totally depends on your own individual choices!!!)

Evening: GALA OPENING SHOW & DINNER included!!, starring Cairo’s current favorite ORIENTAL DANCERS!

June 28/DAY 11 – July 3/ DAY 16: Buffet breakfast, then whichever SEMINAR CLASSES you paid for & shopping you choose to do on the premises (several Cairo dancewear merchants will be in the Mena House hotel, vending at the seminar.)

Lunches & dinners on your own: there are several restaurants in the hotel & a great pool that also has a cafe. Plenty of nearby restaurants too.

EVERY EVENING during the Festival: a DANCE SHOW by the seminar participants, (Speak to Rocky about participating & what she strongly advises …). There is a limited food & drink menu available in the dance room …

On JULY 3, the last Festival eve, there’s the optional GALA FINALE & Dinner with ORIENTAL DANCE Galore! MORE of Cairo’s favorite dancers!!!. (In prior years, the Closing Galas have cost $60 each)

July 4/DAY 17: Buffet breakfast. Transfer to airport for our flight home. BON VOYAGE.

TOUR CONDITIONS:

DEPOSIT: $500 deposit per person required to hold your reservation. Full payment due 45 days before departure.

CANCELLATION: Up to 45 days before departure, full refund minus $150 service charge, 30-45 days, $500 held unless a substitute passenger found or valid medical certification that passenger is too ill to travel, in which case only a $300 cancellation fee applies. 20-30 days, 80% cancellation fee applies, less than 20 days, NO REFUNDS. No refund will be considered for unused portion of tour or hotel accommodations.

SINGLE RESERVATIONS: Price on front cover is per person, double occupancy of hotel rooms. Single reservations, i.e. single occupancy of a hotel room, require an additional charge of $500.00. We will supply roommates, by request, when possible.

DOCUMENTS: Each person is responsible for having with him/her a valid US passport, issued within the last 10 years, that is good until at least 3 months after the end of the tour.

LUGGAGE: Each passenger limited by airline rules to 2 check-in bags,not to exceed 30k or 66Lbs. & 1 carry-on piece + laptop or shoulder bag.

REFUNDS: No refund will be considered for unused portion of tour or hotel accommodations.

INSURANCE: We take no responsibility for lost luggage & recommend that you take out baggage, health & trip cancellation insurance.

CAVEAT: Due to the unique nature of this tour & the many cultural differences to be encountered & respected, Morocco (C.V.Dinicu) reserves the right to accept or reject anyone wishing to take part. There will be no discrimination based on sex, race, religion or national origin. If at any point during the tour, she feels anyone’s conduct is detrimental to the group as a whole, s/he will be asked to leave & will not be entitled to any refund for services not yet received.
