Dear Morocco:

The University of Pennsylvania has received a grant for dance research which will be conducted by Nadia Chilkovsky Nahumck at the Philadelphia Dance Academy. The project is entitled “A Comprehensive Graded Dance Curriculum for Secondary Schools”.

The curriculum will include the development of special pedagogic techniques as well as materials for classroom instruction. One of the exciting features of this project will be the preparation of a series of lectures on dance history from its earliest records to the present, with emphasis on dance in its cultural setting. These lectures will be illustrated by motion picture films and film strips, of various ethnic styles and of outstanding contributions to the development of dance arts.

Miss Chilkovsky knows of the valuable work you are doing and she has particular requested that I ask if you would submit any photos or motion picture film which best represents your work for inclusion in the above lecture series. Full credit will, of course, be given to all contributing artists. We shall look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.

I should like to thank you in advance for your cooperation, and to extend my best wishes for the holiday season.

Sincerely yours

Miss Fai Coleman

Project Research Associate
